I’m sitting in my certain space, observing all the world.
I’m comfortable and safe within, the word of God unfurled.
I know the right, beliefs held dear,
because my view is crystal clear.
I hear the voice so faint and far, it seems to know my name.
There’s more to see, step up with me, you’ll never be the same.
I’ll stay here thanks, this is my place,
but then I trip, fall on my face.
Now that I’m down, I can be still,
move towards the voice, on up the hill.
The world I see looks different now, with laws of time and space.
The old, old stories take on new light, with slowly changing views of grace.
I know what’s right, beliefs held dear,
the picture once again is clear.
I hear the voice still quiet now, its calling me by name.
There’s more to see, step up with me, you’ll never be the same.
I’ll stay here thanks, I like this place,
but then I trip, fall on my face.
Now that I’m down, I can be still,
move towards the voice, on up the hill.
I take the step and lose my breath; see awesome, rich plurality.
Those whom I feared, and thought were weird, it seems are travelers just like me.
Now I’m less sure, who’s wrong, who’s right,
see all are precious in His sight.
I hear the voice, familiar now, its calling me by name.
There’s more to see, step up with me, you’ll never be the same.
I’ll stay here thanks, I like this place,
but then I trip, fall on my face.
Now that I’m down, I can be still,
move towards the voice, on up the hill.
I make the climb, see far and wide, and there the spiral path below,
reveals both truth and mystery, each spot within the sacred flow.
The last shall be first, what’s down will be up,
eat of this bread, drink of this cup.
I hear the voice so precious now, its calling me by name.
There’s more to see, step up with me, you’ll never be the same….
